The Celsion fire protection putty “Crystal-CEL” is a non-combustible, silicone-free, pasty, mineral intumescent building material that foams up in the event of fire, increases its volume and thus achieves a proven heat-insulating effect. It hardens and, in accordance with European Technical Assessment ETA-23/881 based on EAD No. 350005-00-1104, May 2015 edition, may be used to prevent the passage of heat through joints or gaps in the event of a fire.
In practice, the term “fire protection silicone” is often equated with “intumescent material”. So-called fire protection silicones are often permanently elastic silicone-based joint sealants and are classified according to the manufacturer's specifications with regard to fire behaviour or fire resistance. As a rule, fire protection silicones are flame-retardant or normally flammable (e.g. building material class B). They are usually not products that foam up in the event of fire (intumescent building materials) for fire-sealing and fire-retardant applications.
In structural fire protection, various products are used to seal and close joints or openings to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
Our Celsion fire protection putty is preferably supplied in cartridges and essentially consists of expandable substances and aqueous, mineral binders with a proven and classified fire behavior A2-s1,d0 (DIN EN 13501-1).
Characteristic values, properties and approval-compliant production are continuously checked by internal production controls and regular external monitoring of the production plant by a Dakks-accredited monitoring body.
Due to the defined composition, “plastics” are not a component of the “Crystal-CEL” fire protection putty.
