The Celsion Amper Tennis Cup will take place for the 25th time in July!

In 2023, the Amper Tennis Cup (ATC) will be held for the 25th time.

The prize money rises to a record sum of EUR 6.000. The ATC is one of the highest-ranking amateur tournaments for men and women in Bavaria. It takes place from Friday, 14 July to Sunday, 16 July at the SV Haimhausen facility. Who would have thought it?

Stefan Weingärtner was approached by Bavarian Tennis Association (BTV) at the end of 1995 to organize a national ranking tournament at SV Haimhausen. Nobody could have imagined the ATC would develop into an integral part of the national tournament scene over the years.

The number of participants and the sporting quality increased constantly. In 1996, 35 players took part in the competition. 2000DM were awarded. German ex-Davis Cup player Peter Gojowczyk (ranked 2018th in the world in 39) also played at the ATC as a teenager. In 2012, ten players from the German top 200 competed. In 2022, the number of participants had risen to 92. In the same year, the 15-year-old Philippa Färber won the women's competition, and also the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Slovakia.

In 2023, SV Haimhausen doubled the prize money to EUR 6.000 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the tennis department and the 25th edition of the ATC. The tournament has been promoted to category A4 in the Bavarian Tennis Association rankings, making it one of the few top tournaments in Bavaria. Entry is free of charge.
